Arbitrum Unveils $215M Initiative to Boost Gaming Development

Arbitrum is eyeing a significant gaming opportunity. For the Gaming Catalyst Program (GCP) they have put 225 million ARB tokens, which are worth about $215 million.

This initiative aims to drive the adoption of Arbitrum, Orbit, and Stylus for gamers and developers alike.

According to L2Beat and Wintermute, who support the plan, it’s good news for the gaming world on Arbitrum. Not so for everyone, however. Companies like Blockworks Research and Camelot DAO had second thoughts.

A gaming-focused organization, Treasure DAO, heralded the move, calling Arbitrum the “home of gaming” and looking forward to what the future may hold for it.

The money will be split between grants for new devs and investment opportunities for existing ones. To boost ecosystem adoption, operational costs as well as infrastructure bounties will also be supported.

Day-to-day operations will be run by the team and a five-member council will provide guidance on policy. The objective with this setup is to put in checks and balances at every stage to ensure that funds are used in a manner that is visible and efficient.
