Binance CEO Issues Urgent Warning on Web3 Wallet Security
Richard Teng, CEO of Binance, has issued a security alert to the BNB community via his X platform account, urging Web3 wallet users to remain vigilant against scams.
He highlighted the growing problem of blockchain rectification scams, stressing the importance of staying cautious when managing cryptocurrency wallets.
Teng emphasized that scammers thrive on creating a sense of urgency, and the best defense against these attacks is informed caution. He advised users to never trust seed phrases provided by unknown sources and to avoid hasty decisions when presented with “urgent” fixes for wallet issues.

A major scam currently circulating is the “wallet rectification” scam, where fraudulent sites promise to resolve wallet errors or transaction failures. These sites exploit users’ frustrations and offer fake solutions, ultimately stealing their seed phrases and crypto assets.
Another dangerous scam Teng pointed out involves the “seed phrase trap,” where users are lured by fake wallets offering “free” coins but end up losing funds after connecting their wallets. To protect themselves, Binance recommends users avoid interacting with unknown wallets or seed phrases and stay calm when handling wallet-related issues.
