Binance Executive Seeks Bail on Medical Grounds Amid Health Concerns
Tigran Gambaryan, a detained Binance executive facing money laundering charges in Nigeria, has requested bail for medical reasons during his court appearance on September 2.
According to a statement from his family, Gambaryan’s legal team argued that his health has severely deteriorated while in custody, affecting their ability to prepare for his trial.
Gambaryan’s health issues, including a herniated disc, pneumonia, malaria, and tonsillitis, have worsened, prompting concerns from his legal representatives.
They also reported that Gambaryan, who appeared in court using crutches, was denied a wheelchair and adequate medical care, as well as access to legal and diplomatic support.

The judge has now ruled that Gambaryan should be provided with a wheelchair, with the next court session scheduled for September 4. This follows the denial of his initial bail request in May.
In response, the Nigerian Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has downplayed the severity of Gambaryan’s health issues, suggesting that his herniated disc has been a long-standing condition.
Yuki Gambaryan, Tigran’s wife, has criticized the Nigerian authorities for their handling of her husband’s medical needs. She expressed frustration over the lack of timely medical records and the conditions in prison, calling the situation both inhumane and degrading.
