Bitcoin’s Path to $1.5 Million Strengthened by Institutional Interest, Says ARK Invest CEO

Cathie Wood, CEO of ARK Invest, has recently emphasized an increased likelihood that Bitcoin could hit $1.5 million, thanks to rising interest from institutional investors.
Despite a temporary dip below $100,000, driven by concerns over global trade tensions, Wood believes that the growing institutional adoption of Bitcoin significantly improves its long-term prospects.
Wood explained that institutions are starting to view Bitcoin as an essential part of their portfolios, given its unique return-to-risk profile compared to traditional assets. As these investors allocate more capital into Bitcoin, Wood sees the cryptocurrency’s value potentially reaching new heights, fueling an optimistic outlook for its future performance.

ARK’s “Big Ideas 2025” report suggests that if Bitcoin continues to see rapid institutional uptake, it could achieve a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 58%, taking its price to $1.5 million by 2030. However, the report also presents a more cautious scenario, projecting Bitcoin could reach $710,000 with a 40% CAGR, or even as low as $300,000 in a bear case.
In the short term, Bitcoin’s price action remains dependent on breaking past the crucial $100,000 mark. Analysts are watching closely, with some expecting a brief pullback to around $95,000 if the breakout fails. A successful rise could push Bitcoin toward higher resistance levels. The increasing scarcity of Bitcoin on exchanges, with only 2.5 million BTC remaining, is also seen as a possible catalyst for a price surge.
