CoinStats Security Breach: 1,590 Wallets Affected, Users Urged to Secure Funds

CoinStats, a well-known crypto portfolio tracking app, recently experienced a security breach, causing alarm among its iOS users.

This breach led to a wave of scam notifications targeting wallets created within the CoinStats app.

The breach affected 1.3% of CoinStats wallets, impacting 1,590 wallets and prompting users to take immediate steps to secure their funds.

Upon detecting the breach, CoinStats acted swiftly to mitigate the damage. The app was temporarily taken offline to isolate and address the issue, which helped contain the breach and prevent further harm.

CoinStats reassured users that wallets connected to the app and centralized exchanges (CEXes) were not affected. The breach was confined to wallets created directly within the CoinStats app.

Thanks to the quick response from the CoinStats team, the damage was limited to a small percentage of all CoinStats wallets. The affected wallets, totaling 1,590, are being closely monitored as the investigation continues.
