Dogecoin (DOGE): UK Revolut Users Can Pay With and Receive Cashback in the Altcoin
Users of the application in the UK will soon be able to use Dogecoin (DOGE) to pay for everyday goods and receive cashback as well.
Pay with Crypto is a service offered by Revolut that provides users with a 1% payback in cryptocurrency for purchases made with one of nearly a hundred supported tokens. Those tokens include Dogecoin (DOGE), Bitcoin (BTC), and Ethereum (ETH), according to an Evening Standard report.
Cashback is allocated in the same currency in which the purchase was made: For example, if the purchase was made in Dogecoin, 1% of the cashback will be allocated in DOGE.
Emil Urmanshin, managing director of the crypto division at Revolut, comments:
“This year we not only increased the number of cryptocurrencies available on the Revolut app to almost 100 tokens, but also launched Crypto Learn & Earn educational courses, which are used by millions of our customers.”
He added:
“We’re now making cryptocurrencies even more widely available by enabling people to use cryptocurrency-enabled cards to spend their tokens on everyday purchases.”
Exchanging between fiat and cryptocurrencies
Revolut customers will be able to change the currencies they want to spend (including cryptocurrencies) once they activate the new feature.
With the launch of the service, Revolut has developed a collection of “Learn and Earn” courses to help users improve their understanding of cryptocurrencies and related topics such as blockchain, as well as the most popular tokens and protocols.
This comes after Mastercard’s CEO announced a collaboration with the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, to facilitate the acceptance of payments in digital currencies at retail.
The company’s head of cards said it is working with Binance to enable customers to use their cryptocurrencies in any of the more than 90 million stores that accept Mastercard payments.
