The 2024 presidential election is over and the American people have chosen Donald Trump as the new President of the United States.

President of the United States of America. Trump, who held the presidency prior to Joe Biden’s term, won with the overwhelming support of Republicans across the country, defeating Democratic Rep. Kamala Harris, who took Joe Biden’s place in the race.

His election victory, which he achieved by winning crucial states, signals his return to the political stage after a fairly extensive campaign.
Early on Wednesday, news agencies confirmed Trump’s victory, surpassing the 270 electoral votes required for the presidency. His success came after clear victories in key swing states such as Georgia and Pennsylvania, which he had lost to Joe Biden in 2020.
Another win for the Republican Party was that it was able to win back Democratic-held Senate seats in states such as West Virginia and Ohio, giving it a majority. This shift gives Trump a more favorable path to implement his agenda.
However, control of the House of Representatives remains unresolved. The Republicans currently have a small lead, but the ongoing counting of votes in key races means that the balance of power is still unclear.

On the Democratic side, Kamala Harris, the party’s candidate, won 14 states, including key electoral centers such as California, New York and Washington. Although she did well there, with 189 electoral votes she was well behind Trump, who further extended his lead.
After decisive victories in Georgia and other contested states, Trump is expected to address his supporters soon to deliver his first speech as president-elect and lay out his vision for the upcoming term.
With a slew of supporters such as the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, Trump was the favorite in the election according to various sources such as the prediction market Polymarket, where he had a significant lead.
And it wasn’t just Elon Musk – most business owners, Wall Street and big corporations were big Trump supporters.
Plus, Americans voted in record numbers across the country this year.
