El Salvador’s Bitcoin Office to Train 80,000 Government Employees in Bitcoin Use
El Salvador’s National Bitcoin Office (ONBTC) is set to provide Bitcoin training and certification to 80,000 government workers.
In a bid to enhance understanding of Bitcoin’s strategic use and policy implications, the country has introduced a comprehensive training program. This program, titled “Certification in Public Administration 1,” consists of 160 hours of virtual, self-paced instruction. It covers seven modules addressing various aspects of Bitcoin’s role as legal tender, including relevant laws, skills, and management practices.
Stacy Herbert, ONBTC’s director, anticipates that this training will positively impact El Salvador’s Bitcoin-driven economy. She has hinted at additional educational projects to further support the country’s Bitcoin and technology policies, emphasizing that these efforts are long-term investments in success.
The training initiative is managed by the Higher School of Innovation in Public Administration (ESIAP), which was established by President Nayib Bukele in August 2021.
