EOS Community Approves Proposal to Cap Token Supply at 2.1 Billion
Yves La Rose, CEO of the EOS Network Foundation, announced that the EOS community has approved a proposal to cap the EOS token supply at 2.1 billion and burn the excess tokens.
This decision, once implemented, will result in burning around 80% of the total EOS supply, primarily from future emissions.
The EOS Network Foundation, which represents the EOS community, initiated this proposal and gained approval from a majority of the EOS block producers.
La Rose confirmed the consensus approval of the tokenomics proposal, with plans for implementation in the near future.

This move signifies a shift towards a fixed token supply of 2.1 billion, deviating from the previous plan of 10 billion tokens.
The EOS Network Foundation, established under La Rose’s leadership, aims to support the EOS ecosystem as a non-profit organization.
