Four Detained in Ukraine for Bitcoin-Related Murder

In Kyiv, Ukraine, four individuals have been apprehended in connection with the abduction and murder of a Moroccan man over Bitcoin.
The victim, 29, was forcibly taken from his home in Solomianskyi, beaten, and pressured to transfer Bitcoin worth $170,000 into the attackers’ wallets before being strangled.
Police reported that the body was found buried in a forest. The crime, discovered after midnight, was initially reported by neighbors who saw the assault and heard screams.

They forced him to transfer Bitcoin valued at around 7 million hryvnias (approximately $170,000) into their accounts.
The arrested men, aged 24 to 29, face charges including murder and kidnapping. The stolen Bitcoin has been recovered and converted to cash.
This case echoes a 2017 incident where a British crypto employee was kidnapped in Ukraine, and over $1 million in Bitcoin was demanded for his release.
