Iconic Dogecoin Mascot Kabosu Passes Away at Age 18

The shiba inu known as Kabosu, famously associated with dogecoin, has passed away at an estimated age of 18, as confirmed by its owner in a recent blog post.

In a statement posted on Friday, Dogecoin’s official X account expressed sadness over Kabosu’s passing, describing the dog as a beloved friend and inspiration to the community.

Kabosu rose to fame as the face of a viral meme in the early 2010s, which ultimately led to the creation of Dogecoin (DOGE) in 2013.

DOGE went on to become the largest memecoin by market capitalization and served as the inspiration for other dog-themed memecoins such as Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Floki Inu (FLOKI).
