Justin Sun Reveals Mega Airdrop Plans for Crypto Platform Recovery

In recent updates from the cryptocurrency sphere, Justin Sun, prominently associated with the HTX and Poloniex platforms, disclosed forthcoming measures to compensate users and address recent losses, marking developments on Nov. 24.

Sun conveyed intentions for HTX and Poloniex to restore deposit and withdrawal functionalities, coupled with an impending distribution for asset holders. While precise details are pending, Sun expressed regret for the security breaches impacting users and assured the community of complete asset security and a commitment to cover incurred losses.

HTX provided additional insights, revealing that the forthcoming airdrop would be based on a snapshot of users’ 30-day average asset balance in USDT, referred to as “Rockets.” The platform announced a multiplier effect for users holding HTX Token (HT), Tron (TRX), Bitcoin (BTC), and Ethereum (ETH).

Despite withholding specifics about the distributed cryptocurrency, HTX hinted at the inclusion of a premium asset slated for future listing, emphasizing the airdrop’s intention to acknowledge and reward loyal users for their ongoing support.

The purpose of this airdrop, as outlined, is to appreciate customers who maintained their balances during the security incidents. However, it remains unclear if direct compensations will be made to individual user accounts.

On the recovery front, both HTX and Poloniex encountered separate attacks in November. Poloniex faced a $120 million loss on Nov. 10 and aims to resume normal operations by Nov. 30.

Similarly, HTX experienced an estimated $13.6 million loss in a Nov. 22 attack, pledging to restore operations within a 24-hour period. While HTX has taken steps toward recovery, Sun announced the reinstatement of Tron (TRX) deposits and withdrawals, marking partial progress in their recovery efforts.

HTX affirmed this progress by reopening deposits for selected cryptocurrencies on Ethereum and Tron blockchains, encompassing native tokens HT and HUSD, prominent stablecoins, and an array of other assets.
