Kylian Mbappe’s Social Media Account Hijacked to Promote Fake Cryptocurrency
Kylian Mbappe's X account was recently hacked, and the intruder used it to promote a new cryptocurrency token called $MBAPPE.
The token’s value surged to tens of millions of dollars shortly after the promotion but quickly collapsed when the hacker sold off the entire supply.
Mbappe, who has 14.4 million followers on X and recently joined Real Madrid, became the latest high-profile target in a series of celebrity account hijackings aimed at pushing fraudulent crypto schemes.
The hacker posted a link to the $MBAPPE token and soon after sold all holdings, leading to a sharp drop in its value. One investor lost $1 million after buying the token, which plummeted in value within an hour. Another trader made a significant profit by quickly buying and selling the token.
