MakerDAO’s Endgame Roadmap Sets a New Standard With AI

MakerDAO’s Endgame Roadmap Sets a New Standard With AI

MakerDAO, the decentralized platform responsible for the DAI stablecoin, recently unveiled a comprehensive roadmap known as Endgame aimed at enhancing efficiency, resilience, and participation.

This update will leverage AI tools and apply them to open and scalable processes. The immediate objective of this plan is to establish itself as the most widely utilized stablecoin project within the next three years.

Rune Christensen, a co-founder of MakerDAO, expressed in a forum post that Endgame will streamline and parallelize the Maker Ecosystem, introducing a unified brand identity and releasing six new SubDAOs. These SubDAOs will be available for farming by users and will drive permissionless innovation and collateral allocation.

The upgrade will culminate in the deployment of a new blockchain that is closely integrated with Ethereum. This integration aims to enhance governance security, implement advanced Endgame features, and introduce comprehensive tokenomics.

The initial phase of the Endgame initiative will focus on establishing a unified brand for the ecosystem without making any modifications to the Dai stablecoin and MKR governance token. However, new versions called NewStable and NewGovToken will be available for upgrade.

NewStable will serve as an ERC20 wrapper for the existing Dai stablecoin, while NewGovToken will be a redenominated version of MKR with an increased supply. This step addresses the need for a cohesive concept instead of maintaining two separate brands.

In the subsequent phase, six SubDAOs will be launched as born-decentralized, specialized divisions within MakerDAO. This move aims to eliminate operational complexities and costs by delegating them to these SubDAOs, thereby reducing the overall complexity and risk.

Further phases of the roadmap include:

  • The introduction of AI tools for governance monitoring and improvement.
  • The implementation of a governance incentives program.
  • The deployment of a new blockchain known as NewChain.

NewChain will employ hard forks as a governance mechanism and will provide optimized features for AI-assisted DAO governance processes and AI tool users. These features include smart contract generation, state rent, and in-protocol MEV capture.

The launch of NewChain signifies the final step in the Endgame launch process. Once deployed, MakerDAO will permanently enter the Endgame State, where major changes become impossible, and the core processes and balance of power remain decentralized, self-sustainable, and immutable indefinitely.
