Kaspa Breakout Meets a New Test as Silverscript v1 Goes Live

Kaspa is extending a sharp September rally, with KAS trading near $0.0386 after reaching $0.03952 earlier on September 10.
Summary:
- KAS is trading above its 20-, 50-, 100- and 200-period SMAs on the four-hour chart.
- Silverscript is a CashScript-inspired language that compiles readable contracts into Kaspa Script.
- RSI at 71.37 shows strong momentum but leaves KAS vulnerable to short-term consolidation.
The token has climbed above its major moving averages while outperforming a weaker Bitcoin and broader crypto market. At the same time, Kaspa developers have released Silverscript v1, an experimental high-level language intended to make the network’s programmable transaction rules considerably easier to write.
The two developments give KAS both a strong technical setup and a fresh network narrative. They should not, however, be treated as the same catalyst. Price momentum was already building before the latest developer release, while Silverscript’s longer-term importance depends on whether easier programming translates into applications and real network activity.
KAS Has Put Clear Distance Between Price and Trend
The strongest evidence behind the current move is visible directly on the chart.

The gap becomes progressively larger across the longer averages.
The 50-period SMA stands at $0.03214, followed by the 100-period average at $0.03006 and the 200-period line at $0.02840. All four are below the current market price, while the shorter averages are positioned above the longer ones.
That ordering matters more than any single crossover. It shows that recent price action is pulling the shorter-term trend higher while the longer-term averages continue to rise more gradually.
Momentum is also becoming stretched.
The four-hour RSI has climbed to 71.37, compared with its RSI moving average of 66.15. Moving above 70 does not automatically signal that a rally is finished, particularly during a strong trend, but it does indicate that buyers have pushed KAS into a zone where consolidation or sharper intraday pullbacks become more likely.
With the latest candle already reaching $0.03952, $0.040 is now the immediate test.
Silverscript v1 Arrives With a Familiar Design Philosophy
The developer story behind the rally is more specific than a generic smart-contract upgrade.
Silverscript is officially described as a CashScript-inspired language and compiler targeting Kaspa Script. That connection provides useful context: rather than recreating Ethereum’s account-based execution environment, the project follows a programming approach more closely associated with Bitcoin-derived UTXO architectures.
@OriNewman and @IzioDev’s first token mechanism took thousands of lines of raw opcodes. They can now write the same thing in 60 readable lines of Silverscript.

Developer Ori Newman said the v1 release concludes roughly eight months of work that began with Toccata.
Kaspa highlighted an example developed by Newman and Izio in which an early token mechanism required thousands of lines of raw opcodes. The same underlying mechanism can now be represented in roughly 60 readable lines of Silverscript.
For developers, that is the relevant improvement.
The underlying rules are not suddenly possible because Silverscript exists. The language provides an abstraction layer that makes those rules easier to express, inspect and modify without manually assembling large sequences of low-level instructions.
The repository includes a compiler and parser alongside example contracts and a source-level debugger capable of stepping through scripts and inspecting variables.
A Spending Allowance Shows Why Covenants Matter
One example makes Kaspa’s approach easier to understand.
Suppose a pool of KAS is intended to provide a recurring allowance. The recipient is permitted to withdraw only a predetermined amount after each waiting period.
Once that payment is collected, the remainder cannot simply be emptied. The unspent funds continue under the same restrictions until another period passes.
The network enforces the spending conditions.
That is the basic role of a covenant: instead of checking only whether someone possesses the correct key to spend an output, the script can also restrict what the transaction spending that output is allowed to do.
Research implementations on Kaspa’s testnet have already demonstrated related structures including rolling budgets, spending caps, destination allowlists, HTLC atomic swaps and arbitrated escrow. In one testnet implementation, transactions deliberately violating covenant rules were rejected even though they carried a legitimate agent key.
This creates potential applications in treasury management, scheduled payments, controlled wallets and asset-transfer policies.
Silverscript is intended to make writing that logic substantially less cumbersome.
Silverscript Is Still Experimental
The word v1 should not be interpreted as evidence that Kaspa now has a mature production smart-contract ecosystem.
The project’s own repository labels Silverscript experimental, warning that its syntax, APIs and output formats may still introduce breaking changes. It currently recommends using its bytecode artifacts only on testnet-10 until the first stable release.
That qualification is important for evaluating the announcement.

Reducing thousands of opcodes to readable source code solves a genuine developer-experience problem, but a compiler release is only one layer of an application ecosystem. Tooling must become stable, contracts need testing and auditing, wallets and supporting infrastructure need integration, and developers ultimately have to build products people actually use.
The market can price expectations much faster than those steps can happen.
The Price Rally Started Before the Developer News
That timing makes it difficult to describe Silverscript as the primary cause of the KAS rally.
The chart shows KAS beginning its major advance around September 6-7. Price subsequently consolidated around the mid-$0.035 area before breaking higher again on September 10.
Silverscript can strengthen the broader narrative around Kaspa’s programmability, particularly because the release provides developers with tangible tooling rather than only a future roadmap. But the current price structure still points to technical momentum as the clearest immediate force behind the move.
Relative market performance reinforces that interpretation.
The supplied market data put KAS up roughly 8.6% over 24 hours, compared with a 1.22% decline for Bitcoin and a 1.58% drop across the broader crypto market. KAS is therefore attracting buying pressure that cannot be explained by a market-wide risk rally alone.
Two Levels Now Define the Short-Term Setup
KAS does not need another complicated indicator to define the next phase.
$0.040 is the upside level. Price has already reached $0.03952, leaving buyers close to testing the psychological threshold. A sustained break above it would confirm that the latest momentum leg has room to extend.
Below the market, $0.0370-$0.0375 is the first area to monitor after the breakout. Holding that zone would leave the immediate structure intact even if RSI cools from current levels.
A deeper retreat would bring the 20-period SMA near $0.03584 into focus. Because that average has been rising alongside the rally, it offers a cleaner test of trend strength than trying to call a reversal solely because RSI has moved above 70.
The September 11 U.S. CPI release introduces the main external risk. A meaningful inflation surprise could quickly alter broader crypto risk appetite regardless of Kaspa-specific developments.
Silverscript has a different test ahead. Its success will eventually be measured through developer adoption, deployed contracts and actual covenant-based applications, not the number of lines removed from an early token implementation.
For now, KAS has already delivered the market breakout. Silverscript still has to deliver the usage.
