Mastercard Unveils New Crypto Debit Card for Seamless Spending

Mastercard is joining forces with European payment company Mercuryo to launch a new crypto debit card designed for non-custodial wallets.

The card, called Spend, will enable users to directly use or convert their digital assets without needing an intermediary.

This development addresses common challenges faced by crypto holders, such as bank limitations, high fees, and slow processing times.

Spend will integrate with major payment systems like Apple Pay and Google Pay, and it will be compatible with several blockchains, including Ethereum, Solana, The Open Network, and Polkadot.

Users will also maintain full control of their crypto assets.

Earlier this year, Mastercard announced a similar initiative with DEX aggregator 1inch to develop another crypto debit card, aiming to bridge decentralized finance (DeFi) and traditional financial systems.
