Missing Bitcoin Millionaire Found Dead in the US

A "Bitcoin millionaire" who had been reported missing in North-West Arkansas earlier this month has been discovered deceased, according to a statement made by his family on Tuesday.

John Forsyth, an emergency room doctor, and cryptocurrency innovator, failed to take his shift at Mercy Hospital in Cassville on May 21, leading to concerns about his whereabouts. His brother and business partner, Richard Forsyth, stated, “He never misses work, even if he’s extremely unwell… This raised immediate concerns.”

The last communication from Forsyth was a text he sent to his recently engaged partner early on the day he went missing. His vehicle was found in a park containing his mobile phone, work briefcase, wallet, and passport.

Despite an extensive search conducted by authorities, including the use of dogs and drones within a nine-mile radius, Forsyth remained missing for over a week. On Tuesday evening, authorities informed Forsyth’s family that they had located his body.

Forsyth, who was featured in Forbes as a “Bitcoin millionaire,” had a longstanding interest in cryptocurrency, as stated by his son. Before his disappearance, Forsyth was fully engrossed in his medical work and his involvement in the crypto industry.

Forsyth and his brother Richard were reportedly the creators of Onfocoin. John’s success in Bitcoin mining and previous investments in other cryptocurrencies, as mentioned in Forbes, contributed to his millionaire status. He also established Onfo, a platform aimed at assisting individuals in earning income through network mining.

Shortly before he went missing, Forsyth’s brother informed the media that their shared passion for cryptocurrency had garnered them some enemies. However, the family revealed that Forsyth did not appear to be preoccupied with crypto in his final days.

“We had a three-hour dinner on Wednesday before he vanished,” his brother stated. “He seemed happier than he had been in a long time. His divorce was finalized on May 11, which gave him optimism for the future.”

Law enforcement officials have indicated that there is no evidence of foul play in Forsyth’s case.

The deaths of prominent individuals in the crypto industry under mysterious circumstances are not uncommon. Last year, a Russian crypto billionaire named Vyacheslav Taran perished in a helicopter crash near Monaco.

Although reports suggested that the weather was favorable and another passenger canceled at the last minute, Ukrainian media previously accused Taran, a co-founder of Libertex and Forex Club, of connections with the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service and engaging in crypto-related money laundering. Taran’s family, however, vehemently denies these allegations, labeling them as baseless fabrications.

The demise of numerous crypto millionaires and moguls has led to widespread speculation about their deaths. Following the murder of Bob Lee, the founder of Cash App and the MobileCoin project, online users immediately began to engage in conjecture. Ultimately, law enforcement announced Lee’s murder as a premeditated crime, resulting in the arrest of Nima Momeni, a technology consultant accused of stabbing Lee.
