Musk and Ramaswamy Lead Effort to Slash U.S. Government Spending with DOGE Initiative
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an initiative aimed at cutting U.S. federal spending and reducing government waste.
Initially launched as a joke, the project has gained serious backing from President-elect Donald Trump. DOGE’s goal is to eliminate unnecessary regulations, restructure federal agencies, and streamline government operations.
Although not an official government department, DOGE will operate outside traditional systems, with no direct funding from the government.
Musk and Ramaswamy will lead the effort voluntarily, working with a team of cost-cutting advocates and tech experts. The project seeks to influence Congress to adopt its proposals, aiming to reduce government size and spending.

DOGE also plans to engage the public through a podcast and media updates. The name, a nod to Musk’s favorite cryptocurrency, Dogecoin, has sparked renewed interest in both the initiative and the meme coin.
Despite skepticism, the project has already formed a Congressional Caucus to support its budget-slashing goals.
