Number of Crypto Millionaires Soars 95% in Past Year

The number of individuals with at least $1 million in crypto assets has surged dramatically over the past year, according to the latest Crypto Wealth Report from Henley & Partners.

As of June 30th, the report reveals that there are 172,300 people globally holding $1 million or more in cryptocurrency, marking a 95% increase from July 2023.

The number of “centi-millionaires,” or those with $100 million in crypto, has risen by 79% to 325. Meanwhile, those with $1 billion or more in crypto assets saw a 27% increase this year. Overall, the total number of crypto users has grown by 32% to 560 million.

Specifically for Bitcoin (BTC), the number of millionaires has jumped 111% to 85,400. Bitcoin centi-millionaires have doubled to 156, and BTC billionaires have increased by 83% to 11.

Dominic Vole, Henley & Partners’ group head of private clients, attributes this surge to the introduction of crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

He highlights Bitcoin’s price peak above $73,000 in March and the approval of spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs in the USA as key factors driving institutional investment into the crypto market.
