Peter Schiff Criticizes Bitcoin’s Q2 Performance Compared to Gold

Investor and financial commentator Peter Schiff, known for his critical views on Bitcoin, has once again expressed concern over the cryptocurrency's performance in the second quarter compared to gold.

Schiff pointed out that Bitcoin has declined by more than 15% as Q2 nears its end, whereas gold has seen a modest 4% gain over the same period.

Schiff warned investors who may have switched from gold ETFs to Bitcoin ETFs that they are now facing a 20% loss and cautioned that the situation could worsen further.

Bitcoin’s recent price movements show a drop from just under $71,000 to around $60,800, marking a decline of over 14%.

This decrease follows a significant surge earlier in the year, where Bitcoin surged nearly fivefold from its January 2023 lows to a new peak above $73,500 in mid-March. Despite this correction, some analysts view it as part of a broader bullish trend.

Julio Moreno of CryptoQuant observed a decline in Bitcoin demand, noting a reduction of 23,000 Bitcoins in the past 30 days, which he attributes to the ongoing price correction.
