Reddit Co-founder Foresees AI and Blockchain Convergence
Alexis Ohanian, Reddit's co-founder, has put forth a theory regarding the potential convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology.
He suggests that AI and blockchain are nearing a point where they will intersect and mutually benefit each other. Ohanian believes this based on the complementary relationship observed between the two technologies, stating that they fulfill each other’s essential requirements.
Moreover, he acknowledges the transformative impact of AI, noting its role in making images abundantly accessible. This observation is supported by the introduction of innovative AI tools by major tech companies, such as OpenAI Sora and Google Genie, which create videos and virtual worlds, respectively, from text or images.
Ohanian envisions a future where trust in digital content becomes increasingly challenging due to the proliferation of AI-generated content. He sees blockchain as a potential solution to this issue, offering a means to verify the authenticity and origin of digital assets, thereby expanding blockchain’s utility beyond speculation.
