Semler Scientific Strengthens Bitcoin Reserves with $88.5 Million Purchase

Semler Scientific has made a significant move to bolster its financial reserves by acquiring an additional 871 Bitcoin (BTC) for $88.5 million, bringing its total holdings to 3,192 BTC, valued at approximately $320 million.
The purchase was made at an average price of $101,616 per Bitcoin and was funded through a combination of proceeds from the company’s recent senior convertible notes offering and the sale of a portion of its investment in Monarch Medical Technologies.
This acquisition, which took place between January 11 and February 3, marks a strategic step for Semler Scientific as it continues to grow its Bitcoin treasury. The company had previously made an initial investment in December 2024, acquiring 303 BTC as part of its broader investment strategy.

Eric Semler, the chair of Semler Scientific, expressed his satisfaction with the progress made in expanding their Bitcoin reserves and highlighted the strong demand for their convertible notes offering, which was significantly oversubscribed. Despite the recent uptick in Semler’s stock by 2.05%, the company’s year-to-date performance shows an 8.42% decline.
This development comes as the Bitcoin market remains volatile, with fluctuations around the $100,000 mark amid global economic concerns, such as the ongoing trade tensions involving the U.S.
