Solana’s Pump Fun Halts Live Streaming Amid Content Abuse Concerns
Pump Fun, a Solana-based memecoin launchpad, has decided to pause its live streaming feature indefinitely due to growing concerns about misuse and harmful content.
The platform, which has seen significant user growth in recent weeks, reported a dramatic increase in live stream activity, with the number of streams surging by 100 times in just a week. However, this rapid growth also brought about several incidents involving inappropriate and alarming content, including reports of a user threatening suicide over memecoin investments and other disturbing threats.
In response to these issues, Pump Fun has ramped up its moderation efforts, hiring additional staff and enhancing its automated systems to quickly flag harmful content. Despite these efforts, the platform acknowledged that it needs more time to refine its systems and ensure the safety of its users.

As a result, the live streaming feature will remain suspended while the platform works on improving its content moderation and increasing transparency about its guidelines and decision-making processes.
Despite the challenges, Pump Fun has benefited greatly from the memecoin boom, leveraging the popularity of the Solana blockchain to generate significant fees. The protocol also recently sold off a substantial amount of SOL tokens, capitalizing on the surge in the coin’s value. Inspired by Pump Fun’s success, other blockchain projects have started to launch their own versions of memecoin platforms, signaling a growing trend in the crypto space.
