Sony and Startale Unveil Super App to Bring the World On-Chain

In a move that could reshape how people use blockchain technology, Startale Group has unveiled a powerful new “super app” developed with Sony Block Solutions Labs, designed to make Web3 interaction as effortless as using a smartphone.

The launch marks a major step forward for the Soneium network, which Sony and Startale are building together as a foundation for next-generation digital infrastructure.

Turning the Blockchain Into an Everyday Experience

Instead of juggling multiple wallets, dApps, and sign-in tools, users will soon be able to manage their entire digital lives through a single application. The app acts as an all-purpose hub, connecting token launches, airdrops, and reward programs inside the expanding Soneium ecosystem. Startale says the experience will feel “instant and intuitive,” blurring the line between traditional apps and blockchain-powered systems.

Startale CEO Sota Watanabe described the app as a bridge between the familiar world of mobile finance and the decentralized economy. “We’re building an environment where people can interact with blockchain every day—without friction, confusion, or technical barriers,” he said, calling the rollout the company’s most ambitious effort yet to “bring the world on-chain.”

Simplifying the Web3 Onboarding Problem

Behind the polished interface lies a series of design choices aimed at solving one of Web3’s biggest problems: accessibility. Users can open a crypto wallet using only an email address, thanks to account abstraction, removing the need for complex seed phrases or gas fee confirmations. The result is a streamlined experience where blockchain technology quietly runs in the background while users simply engage, play, or transact.

Developers aren’t being left out. Startale has introduced Mini Apps, a framework that lets teams build directly on Soneium and instantly integrate with the platform’s reward and identity systems. Builders joining early can earn STAR Points and other incentives while contributing to what Sony calls “an open and user-first internet.”

Sony’s Expanding Blockchain Ambitions

The super app represents the most consumer-facing project to emerge from Sony’s blockchain division so far. The company has described Soneium as a “Web3 engine” that will power services across entertainment, gaming, and digital finance. By collaborating with Startale, Sony hopes to translate years of research into tangible, easy-to-use products that make decentralization invisible to the end user.

Soneium’s team announced the closed beta on X, inviting early testers to sign up for access. The message was simple: “The open internet needs a simple way for everyone to interact on-chain.” Future versions of the app will expand to include social identity tools and developer-facing APIs, deepening Soneium’s integration with Ethereum’s broader ecosystem.

A New Direction for Web3 Adoption

With the app’s launch, Sony and Startale are no longer just experimenting with blockchain—they’re turning it into a product category in its own right. If successful, the Soneium app could become the template for how everyday consumers enter Web3, bringing blockchain out of the background and into the mainstream of digital life.
