Texas Residents File Lawsuit Against Bitcoin Mining Firm Over Noise Pollution
The lawsuit, initiated by the group Citizens Concerned About Wolf Hollow, alleges that the operations of Marathon Digital Holdings are producing “intolerably loud noise conditions” that disrupt the community's peace.
The residents claim that the excessive noise generated by Marathon significantly affects their ability to enjoy their properties, causing extreme discomfort and annoyance. They report experiencing emotional and physical distress from the constant noise associated with the mining activities, which occur nearly every day and night.

Previously a serene and rural area, Granbury has seen its tranquility disrupted since the crypto mine’s operations began. The lawsuit describes the mining facility’s impact as detrimental, stating that the residents’ peace of mind has been shattered. The mine started construction in April 2022, but ownership changed several times before Marathon assumed control in April of this year.
As part of the lawsuit, the plaintiffs are requesting a permanent injunction to prevent Marathon from producing any unreasonable noise at its mining facility in Granbury.
