U.S. Unveils Bold AI Regulations Ensuring Safety and Transparency

The Biden administration recently issued an executive order on October 30, aiming to set firm regulations regarding artificial intelligence (AI) safety, security, and ethical use within government sectors.

This order introduces stringent measures for AI systems’ integrity, emphasizing transparency and accountability for developers. It mandates that creators of advanced AI systems disclose safety test results and crucial data to the government, while the National Institute of Standards and Technology works to establish standardized tools for AI safety and security.

Apart from emphasizing safety and security, the administration’s directive also focuses on preventing the potential misuse of AI in creating hazardous biological materials. New screening standards for biological synthesis and measures to combat AI-driven fraud and deception are being introduced. The goal is to establish protocols to distinguish AI-generated content and verify official communications.

Building on the AI Cyber Challenge initiated in August, the administration is advancing a comprehensive cybersecurity initiative that harnesses AI tools to identify and address vulnerabilities in critical software. Additionally, work is underway on a national security memorandum to further outline directives on AI security.

Recognizing the inherent privacy risks related to AI, the order stresses the need for protective measures and calls for bipartisan data privacy legislation in Congress. It also aims to encourage the development of privacy-enhancing technologies. The administration is keen on ensuring equity, civil rights, and consumer benefits in AI applications while closely monitoring the technology’s impact on employment.

Furthermore, the U.S. is actively engaged in global discussions on AI regulation and has recently collaborated with six other G7 nations to establish a voluntary code of conduct for AI. Within this collaboration, the government is committed to setting clear AI standards to protect rights, strengthen AI procurement and deployment, and ensure comprehensive employee training.

This executive order reflects the Biden administration’s dedication to advancing responsible AI governance, underscoring its commitment to prioritizing safety, security, and ethical use of AI in government operations.

It started in 2016 with Bitcoin. Like most people at the time, he didn't fully understand it - so he kept digging. Blockchain, tokenomics, the projects, the cycles. That curiosity never stopped, and eventually pulled him into traditional markets too: equities, commodities, macro. Not because he left crypto behind, but because you can't properly understand one without the other. What drives him is straightforward: he wants to know why something is happening, not just that it's happening. Most market coverage stops at the headline - price up, price down, here's a chart. Alex finds that kind of reporting actively unhelpful. If you walk away from an article without understanding the mechanism behind the move, what did you actually learn? He holds a degree in Tourism from New Bulgarian University - not the most obvious path into financial markets, but markets have a way of pulling in people who are simply too curious to stay out. He has authored over 200 in-depth analyses and more than 10,000 articles across crypto and traditional finance. He still thinks every day in markets teaches him something new. That's probably why he hasn't stopped.
