US presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy suggests that the government's hesitation to fully embrace Bitcoin is rooted in its perception of the digital asset as a threat to its existence.
In a recent interview on the What Bitcoin Did podcast, Ramaswamy pointed out that Senator Elizabeth Warren’s stance on Bitcoin reflects a different worldview.
Warren, known for her critical views on cryptocurrencies, is advocating for the Digital Asset Anti-Money Laundering Act, a bill that some argue could effectively ban digital assets within the US.
Ramaswamy highlighted the significant divergence between the perspectives of Warren, the US government, and ordinary citizens.
According to Ramaswamy, there’s a viewpoint that suggests the state precedes the individual, and rights are derived from the government rather than being separate from it. This alternative perspective poses a perceived threat to the state’s existence, justifying intervention to prevent it.

He also expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of educating politicians to change their stance on cryptocurrencies, asserting that it’s not about their lack of understanding but rather their awareness triggering a strong reaction.
Furthermore, Ramaswamy intends to bring up the topic of Bitcoin during debates, having informed Republican Party moderators of its importance for discussion. If they fail to do so, he plans to initiate the conversation himself.
