VanEck Predicts Major Crypto Gains in 2025 with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana Set for New Highs

VanEck has forecasted that Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana will hit new all-time highs in 2025, driven by several key factors.
In a recent update, the firm set its predictions for each cryptocurrency, with Bitcoin potentially reaching $180,000, Ethereum at $6,000, and Solana soaring to $500, suggesting a nearly 70% increase in value from their current levels.
The firm points to several catalysts that could spark these surges, including a peak in the crypto bull market in the first quarter, U.S. acceptance of Bitcoin as part of a strategic reserve, more relaxed crypto regulations following changes at the SEC, and the tokenized securities market possibly exceeding $50 billion. Additionally, VanEck expects Bitcoin Layer-2 solutions to see significant growth, with total value locked (TVL) potentially reaching 100,000 BTC, building on the 600% increase in 2024 that brought TVL to 30,000 BTC.

While VanEck’s predictions are more cautious compared to Bitwise’s recent estimates—where Bitcoin was projected to reach $200,000 and Ethereum to $7,000—VanEck is also optimistic about the broader crypto ecosystem. The firm anticipates stablecoins will play a major role in transforming global payments, with daily transaction volumes potentially tripling to $300 billion by the end of 2025. This surge would be fueled by increased adoption in global commerce and remittances, alongside deeper integration with major technology and payment platforms.
VanEck also foresees a revival in NFT trading volumes, expecting them to rebound to $30 billion by 2025. Despite the recent decline in the market, the firm highlights that standout projects like Pudgy Penguins and Miladys are demonstrating resilience, successfully tapping into strong community support and emerging cultural trends.
Overall, VanEck’s predictions suggest that 2025 could be another monumental year for cryptocurrencies, with Bitcoin leading the charge while altcoins are expected to enjoy a strong resurgence, especially in the early months of the year.
