The process began with an on-chain redemption of tokenized U.S. Treasuries issued via Ondo Finance. The asset leg, executed on the XRP Ledger, completed within seconds, demonstrating the speed advantages of blockchain-based settlement.

Following the on-chain step, Ondo transmitted a fiat payout instruction through Mastercard’s multi-token infrastructure. This layer translated blockchain activity into a format compatible with traditional financial messaging systems, effectively bridging digital assets and fiat rails.

The final stage took place within JPMorgan’s Kinexys platform, where the transaction settled through established correspondent banking channels. Funds moved into a bank account in Singapore, completing the cross-border transfer outside standard banking hours. The end-to-end process required minimal manual intervention, highlighting a level of automation not typically seen in prior blockchain-to-bank experiments.

Toward Continuous, Interoperable Markets

The pilot underscores a broader shift toward continuous financial markets. Traditional systems rely on fixed operating hours and multiple intermediaries, often delaying settlement and increasing costs. By contrast, the integrated model demonstrated in this test allows transactions to move seamlessly across time zones without waiting for banking windows to reopen.
