Coca-Cola has unveiled its inaugural NFT series named "Masterpiece," marking its foray into the world of non-fungible tokens.
The company introduced this NFT assortment on the Base blockchain, Coinbase’s Layer 2 solution, in conjunction with its Onchain Summer event.
As disclosed in an official statement released on August 13, the Masterpiece compilation encompasses iconic artworks such as “The Scream” by Edvard Munch and “Girl with a Pearl Earring” by Johannes Vermeer. This assortment also integrates contemporary creations from artists like Aket and Vikram Kushwah. The statement reads:
“The Masterpiece collection uniquely harmonizes timeless artistic treasures with fresh creations from burgeoning talents, all woven together by the iconic Coca-Cola bottle.”
This collection showcases a diverse array of artworks, amalgamating the artistic brilliance of conventional and modern craftsmen hailing from various corners of the globe. It provides them with an avenue to showcase their skills on a worldwide stage. Fatma Ramadan, a visual artist from Egypt, expressed, “I take pride in my association with Masterpiece because my work shares space with an eclectic cohort of artists representing diverse countries.”
Furthermore, the company disclosed that these artistic pieces were once featured in Coca-Cola’s Masterpiece Global Campaign, underscoring the innovative aspect these collections adopt while embracing the digital medium. The company’s objective is to make these aesthetic creations accessible to art aficionados participating in the Onchain Summer event.
