Nigerians Can Now Buy Crypto Safely with MetaMask and MoonPay

ConsenSys has announced that MetaMask, in partnership with web3 payment company MoonPay, has expanded its services in Nigeria.

The integration allows MetaMask users to purchase cryptocurrency directly from their wallets using local bank transfers.

The purchased tokens can then be stored in their MetaMask wallets.

MoonPay already provides local peer-to-peer crypto purchases for Nigerians, partnering with the African fintech firm Yellow Card.

This integration aims to ease the buying process in a country where commercial banks are prohibited from servicing crypto exchanges.

Nigerians have had to rely on peer-to-peer transactions, which are fraught with challenges such as fraud and account closures.

To address this, MoonPay has introduced a document-less KYC solution that leverages governmental databases, allowing users to onboard faster and more safely.
