Terra-Führungskräfte profitieren über $300 Mio. von gescheitertem Projekt
Einem Bericht von KBS News vom 7. April zufolge sollen die Geschäftsführer von Terraform Labs, Do Kwon und Daniel Shin, die Anleger in ein gescheitertes Projekt gelockt haben
Daraus ergab sich ein Gewinn von 414.5 Milliarden Won (314.2 Millionen Dollar). Während Shin 154.1 Milliarden Won verdiente, erhielten sieben andere Mitarbeiter 169 Milliarden Won.
Die Staatsanwaltschaft Seoul hat das Vermögen von Shin und den Mitarbeitern eingefroren, darunter Wohnungen in Seoul, Grundstücke in Hwaseong, Gapyeong und Taean sowie Autos.
Do Kwon besitzt jedoch kein Eigentum in Südkorea, und die Versuche, sein Vermögen einzufrieren, waren erfolglos.
Berichten zufolge hat Kwon rund 91.4 Milliarden Won (69 Millionen Dollar) mit dem Betrug verdient, die er größtenteils in Bitcoin umwandelte und an Kryptobörsen außerhalb Südkoreas transferierte.
Die Strafverfolger haben Binance kontaktiert, um das Kryptovermögen von Kwon einzufrieren.
Kwon wurde in Montenegro festgenommen, wo er mit gefälschten Reisedokumenten erwischt wurde, als er versuchte, nach Dubai zu fliegen.
Sowohl die USA als auch Südkorea bemühen sich um seine Auslieferung, um ihn strafrechtlich zu belangen.
