Yuga Labs Aquires Beeple’s NFT Project

Yuga Labs Aquires Beeple’s NFT Project

Yuga Labs, the company that created one of the most famous NFT collections, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), has acquired Web3 ecosystem WENEW and its flagship NFT collection 10KTF.

WENEW is an ecosystem that boasts partnerships with brands such as Gucci and Louis Vuitton, was founded by Mike Winkelman, aka Beeple, Guy Osier and Michael Figge. The company is also behind 10KTF, an interoperable digital shop where owners of the best NFT projects like BAYC, Moonbirds and others can craft one-of-a-kind digital items.

According to Greg Solano, co-founder of Yuga Labs, the team that created WENEW found a way to create a compelling serialized story for Web3, capitalizing on the passion people have for their digital avatars. He added that storytelling and world-building are foundational at Yuga Labs, and that he’s thrilled they’ll be able to work with a company like WENEW.

Michael Figge will join the Yuga leadership team as Chief Content Officer, and Mike Winkelman will join as an advisor. Previously, Figge worked as co-founder and creative director of Possible, a company that creates immersive visual experiences for major events like the Super Bowl halftime show and Coachella. Following the announcement, Yuga Labs hinted at the integration between 10KTF and Otherside.

Yuga Labs is continuously expanding its portfolio of NFT projects and interactive experiences. In March, the company acquired CryptoPunks and Meebits, releasing the commercial rights to their holders a few months later. The company has also created additional NFT collections such as Bored Ape Kennel Club (BAKC), and recently released a management token – ApeCoin (APE)

Alex is Editor-in-Chief of Coinspress and co-founder of Millennial Media Group, with nearly a decade of experience covering financial markets - crypto first, then everything else. It started in 2016 with Bitcoin. Like most people at the time, he didn't fully understand it - so he kept digging. Blockchain, tokenomics, the projects, the cycles. That curiosity never stopped, and eventually pulled him into traditional markets too: equities, commodities, macro. Not because he left crypto behind, but because you can't properly understand one without the other. What drives him is straightforward: he wants to know why something is happening, not just that it's happening. Most market coverage stops at the headline - price up, price down, here's a chart. Alex finds that kind of reporting actively unhelpful. If you walk away from an article without understanding the mechanism behind the move, what did you actually learn? He holds a degree in Tourism from New Bulgarian University - not the most obvious path into financial markets, but markets have a way of pulling in people who are simply too curious to stay out. He has authored over 200 in-depth analyses and more than 10,000 articles across crypto and traditional finance. He still thinks every day in markets teaches him something new. That's probably why he hasn't stopped.
